About me
After graduating college, I proceeded as a free-lance designer/sign-maker. I began designing and fabricating signage; designing logos, flyers, brochures, graphics for silk-screening, and advertisement layouts for magazines and newspapers; and designing and rendering interior and exterior architectural design projects. Within several years of working in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia I developed a solid base of regular clients for signage and print design, including several advertising agencies. I did various design and signage work for about 12 years in Russia.
When I moved to New York in 2001 to marry and be with my wife, an American citizen, I took classes at School of Visual Arts to get a sense of American design trends and to better understand the market. I taught myself Flash and Dreamweaver and began getting jobs for web design and Flash animation. I improved my skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Quark, and taught myself 3D Studio Max. I worked for six months in local sign companies as a designer and sign-maker. Soon thereafter, I bought my own sign-making equipment. I now do signage as well as design. Little by little, as before in Russia, I have been developing a base of regular clients for signage, print and web design. I design logos, flyers, posters, postcards and other print pieces for clients; I design and fabricate signage; and I create computer animations and design web- page layouts. I am open to any creative opportunity within my fields of expertise. Please see samples of my work on the web-site to get an idea of my skills and experience. Feel free to call or write me to discuss your upcoming design projects.
Sincerely,
Stan Povelikin
